If you want to buy from HM and ship to Ghana, the most practical and reliable option is to use a package forwarding service such as Global Shopaholics. HM’s U.S. online store does not ship directly to Ghana, but with a U.S. shipping address from Global Shopaholics, you can shop HM’s full U.S. selection and have your purchases forwarded cost-effectively and safely to your Ghanaian address. This guide covers every step, from shopping on HM USA to your delivery in Ghana, including shipping costs, available options, customs, and how to avoid common issues with international ordering.
Quick Summary: How to Buy from HM and Ship to Ghana
- HM USA doesn’t ship directly to Ghana: Ghanaian shoppers cannot enter a Ghana delivery address at checkout on the HM U.S. website.
- Get a free U.S. shipping address: Global Shopaholics provides a U.S. address so you can shop the HM online store as if you live in the USA.
- Consolidate & forward your packages: Buy multiple items or shop at several stores. Ship everything to Ghana in one box to save on shipping costs.
- Flexible shipping options: Choose between express air freight, standard delivery, or economy carriers to Ghana.
- Track your order: Receive updates and manage your shipments online with Global Shopaholics support.
Why Can’t You Ship Directly from HM USA to Ghana?
The main challenge is that the official HM USA site does not offer international shipping to Ghana. Even if you can access HM.com and browse the latest fashion trends and collections, the checkout system requires a U.S. shipping address. HM locations in Ghana (if available) often have more limited selection and different pricing than HM’s U.S. online store, making direct U.S. shopping attractive. This creates a common scenario: Ghanaian shoppers see great deals or exclusive items on HM’s U.S. website, but hit a roadblock at checkout.
What Ghanaian Shoppers Need to Know Before Ordering from HM USA
Before you jump into shopping at HM USA, it’s important to understand how your international order will work. Here’s what you need to know to avoid surprises, maximize savings, and ensure successful delivery from the USA to Ghana.
- Billing & Payment Methods: HM USA may not accept all international credit or debit cards. If your Ghanaian card is declined, assisted purchase services like those from Global Shopaholics can complete the purchase for you.
- Product Restrictions: Most HM fashion, accessories, and basics can be shipped. Hazardous items, perfumes, nail polish, and aerosols may have shipping restrictions due to air freight regulations. Always check before you buy.
- Return Policy: Returns to the U.S. store may be challenging from Ghana. Double-check sizes and details before purchase.
- Customs & Import Duties: You may be required to pay customs duties or taxes when importing items from HM USA to Ghana. Check the Ghana Revenue Authority site for up-to-date information: Ghana Customs – Import Procedures & Duties.
Key Timing Considerations
- Sales, new arrivals, and limited releases: U.S. sales events like Black Friday, end-of-season clearances, or new collection drops may sell out quickly. Global Shopaholics’ U.S. address lets Ghanaian shoppers order as soon as sales start.
- Package receiving & storage: You can shop several times and combine purchases before shipping – useful for sale events or gift-buying.
- International delivery speed: Depending on your selected shipping method (air, express, economy), transit from USA to Ghana is typically 3–10 days after dispatch, but customs processing can add time.

HM Shipping Costs & Delivery to Ghana: What to Expect
Shipping cost from USA to Ghana for HM products depends on the size, weight, category of your parcel, chosen courier, speed, and your destination in Ghana. Here’s a practical overview of what impacts your shipping fee and how to plan for final costs:
- Dimensional Weight: Clothing is generally lightweight, so costs are mostly based on actual weight unless you’re shipping in bulk.
- Shipping Options: Express carriers (e.g., DHL, FedEx) are fast but costlier. Economy or postal shipment takes longer but is budget-friendly. Use the shipping calculator to compare real-time prices for shipping to Ghana from the USA.
- Consolidation: Combining multiple purchases into one box with package consolidation reduces the per-item delivery fee, often making it the cheapest way to ship HM to Ghana.
- Customs Fees & Import Duties: Ghana applies VAT, duties, or other fees on imported goods. These are collected by the courier or customs on arrival. Check details at Ghana Customs.
- Package Photos & Account Updates: With Global Shopaholics, you see package photos and receive tracking updates to monitor every step of the shipment.
Typically, sending a small parcel of HM clothing from the USA to Ghana starts at a reasonable rate, but final shipping costs depend on your chosen delivery method and whether you consolidate. The Global Shopaholics shipping calculator gives instant quotes for various options to help you budget your order from HM USA delivered to Ghana.
Common Restrictions When Shipping HM to Ghana
While most HM clothing, accessories, baby items, and shoes are eligible for international shipping, there are some restrictions Ghanaian shoppers should know about:
- Hazardous Materials: Perfume, nail polish, aerosols, or products containing batteries may have shipping restrictions due to air freight regulations.
- High-Value Orders: Expensive, luxury, or bulk shipments may receive extra customs scrutiny and could be subject to higher duties or additional documentation by Ghana Customs.
- Counterfeit Concerns: Only buy official HM items from the HM website to ensure authenticity and minimize problems at customs.
When in doubt, contact Global Shopaholics about restricted items before you order. Refer to Ghana Customs – Import Procedures & Duties for official rules.
