What’s the Main Challenge for Irish Shoppers?
The main challenge for anyone in Ireland who wants to buy from Kohls USA and ship to Ireland is that Kohls.com only ships orders to US-based addresses. Attempting to order directly from Kohls and shipping to an Irish address at checkout will result in either an error or an inability to complete your purchase. Additionally, some Kohls products are available only within the US due to regional exclusives or retailer agreements, and international transactions are often blocked for non-US payment methods or billing addresses. These issues make it nearly impossible for Irish customers to check out successfully without using a workaround solution.
What Irish Shoppers Need to Know About Ordering from Kohls USA
If you’re in Ireland and want to buy Kohls US products—from fashion to homeware and kids’ items—here are key factors to consider before shopping:
- Direct delivery to Ireland isn’t available. You must ship your order to a US address first (such as the one provided by Global Shopaholics).
- Payment method compatibility. Kohls.com generally accepts major credit cards, but if your Irish debit or credit card is declined, you may need an assisted purchase service.
- Shipping from USA to Ireland can be expensive. Rates depend on parcel size, weight, speed, and service provider.
- Customs duties and taxes apply in Ireland. Import VAT and applicable duty are usually collected by Irish customs upon delivery. See the Irish Revenue website for the latest info.
- Some items may be restricted. Certain products (like aerosols, flammables, some electronics, large lithium batteries) may not be eligible for international air shipment.
- Large or bulky items. Heavier products cost more and may require freight or special handling. Learn more at Global Shopaholics freight forwarding.
- Consolidating multiple orders. If you shop from other US retailers too, package consolidation significantly reduces total shipping cost.
Why Doesn’t Kohls Ship to Ireland Directly?
Like many well-known US retailers, Kohls.com’s international shipping options are limited due to supply chain controls, third-party vendor agreements, and the high cost/complexity of cross-border sales. At the checkout, customers outside the US are unable to select Ireland as a delivery destination. For this reason, a US package forwarding solution is not only practical but often the only way to access the full Kohls.com inventory from Ireland.
Product and Delivery Limitations for Irish Customers
There are a few additional details to keep in mind when you want to shop Kohls online in Ireland:
- Availability changes often. Promotions, sale events (like Black Friday), and product launches may have restricted items or online-only deals available only for US shipping addresses.
- Kohls Cash and gift cards are redeemable online at checkout, but always use a US-based address for the purchase and shipping.
- Change in shipping policies. Always double-check Kohls’ direct shipping policies and product availability, as brands can update their international support without notice.
- Size and weight issues. Bulky items (like appliances or furniture) may require specific freight services and could affect customs clearance or total shipping cost.
- Carrier restrictions. Not all carriers can transport all items internationally (for example, fragrances may be restricted by air).

Forwarders like Global Shopaholics can help you calculate each step for full transparency. For irregular or complex shipments, always check with your forwarder and the latest customs rates.
What Can’t Be Shipped? Restrictions for International Delivery
Kohls.com sells thousands of products, but not everything can be forwarded into Ireland. Some common restrictions may apply:
- Hazardous materials: Cleaning supplies, aerosols, batteries, or certain kitchen appliances may be restricted by airline or customs rules.
- Prohibited goods in Ireland: Certain knives, offensive weapons, and specific electronics may be denied entry.
- Counterfeit or branded goods: These may be seized by Irish customs.
- High-value items: Expensive jewelry or electronics may require extra handling or paperwork.
Global Shopaholics will alert you if a product is ineligible for air shipment or restricted by US export or Irish import controls. Always reference the Irish import guidelines before shipping.
