If you want to buy from Carter and ship to Ireland, you’ll need a simple way to shop from Carter’s U.S. website, get your items delivered to a U.S. address, and then forward them internationally to your address in Ireland. This guide explains how Irish shoppers can order Carter’s clothes and accessories—even if Carter’s won’t ship directly to Ireland—and exactly how to make the process stress-free with actual costs, steps, and rules to know.
Quick Summary: How to Buy from Carter and Ship to Ireland
- Direct delivery: Carter’s (carters.com) does not ship directly to Ireland, so a U.S. forwarding service is required.
- Solution: Get a free U.S. shipping address from a package forwarder, shop on Carter’s U.S. site using that address, then forward your items to Ireland.
- Costs: Shipping rates vary by courier, package size, weight, and options—expect to pay international courier rates plus Irish import duties or VAT.
- Easy with Global Shopaholics: They provide a U.S. address, consolidate packages, and ship reliably to Ireland with customs support.
- Watch for sales and shipping restrictions: Check Carter’s site for sale events; note that some items may be restricted.
Why “Buy from Carter and Ship to Ireland” Is a Common Shipping Challenge
Carter’s is a top U.S. retailer for baby and kids’ clothing, selling a wide range of styles from newborn onesies to toddler pajamas and OshKosh B’gosh overalls. Unfortunately, Carter’s direct shipping is limited to U.S. addresses—meaning that customers in Ireland can’t ship directly from carters.com. This presents several roadblocks:
- Carter’s checkout often rejects non-U.S. billing and shipping addresses.
- Even third-party Irish retailers rarely have Carter’s full U.S. selection, sales, or lowest prices.
- Popular U.S. promotions may not apply internationally.
If you want access to exclusive U.S. Carter’s deals or clothing not sold in Europe, package forwarding is the trusted solution. This is where Global Shopaholics fills the critical gap.
Key Information for Irish Shoppers Ordering Carter’s from the U.S.
Here’s what you need to know before you buy from Carter and ship to Ireland:
- Product Availability: The Carter’s U.S. site has the widest selection. Availability and prices will differ from Irish or EU sites, so check product pages for sale events and stock status.
- Shipping Limitations: Carter’s ships to U.S. addresses only. This means no direct-to-Ireland checkout option on carters.com.
- Payment Issues: Carter’s may decline cards with non-U.S. billing addresses, but Global Shopaholics offers an Assisted Purchase service if you face issues at checkout.
- Customs in Ireland: All imports into Ireland are subject to Irish Customs clearance, import duties, and VAT.
- Shipping Restrictions: Most Carter’s clothing is eligible for import, but always review current rules for textiles or accessories—some items can change status due to materials, trademarks, or local rules.
Does Carter’s Ship Directly to Ireland?
No—Carter’s does not currently offer international checkout or shipping direct to Ireland from their U.S. website. If you enter an Irish address at checkout, you will receive an error or be unable to complete the transaction.
To get Carter’s full U.S. product range, shoppers in Ireland must use a trusted U.S. package forwarding service. This gives you access to all the deals, exclusive U.S. collections, and local shipping offers that would otherwise be off-limits outside the U.S.

- Domestic Shipping (Carter’s to US Address): Some orders may qualify for free U.S. shipping (often for orders above $35–$50); smaller orders usually have a flat fee.
- Package Forwarding (US to Ireland): Rates depend on package weight, dimensions, courier speed (DHL, FedEx, UPS, Aramex), and chosen options.
- Package Consolidation: If you shop from multiple U.S. brands (or multiple Carter’s orders), consolidation groups your items to reduce shipping volume—cutting costs significantly.

- Duty/Tax on Arrival: Irish VAT (23%) is assessed on the value of goods plus shipping. Customs or duties may apply based on current Irish law. Always check with Revenue for the most up-to-date import thresholds and rates.
