Why Is Buying from 6PM and Shipping to Botswana a Challenge?
If you’re looking for trendy shoes, designer handbags, or discounted clothing on 6PM.com from Botswana, you quickly notice that their checkout does not accept non-US shipping addresses. This limitation blocks direct delivery, even if you’re ready to pay and select express shipping. As a Botswana-based shopper, you’re not alone—many international customers face the same challenge with popular American retailers.
This is frustrating, especially since 6PM frequently offers hard-to-beat deals from brands you may not find locally. But U.S.-only delivery rules, payment method restrictions, and the risk of getting blocked at checkout can stand in your way. Fortunately, a practical solution exists.
Understanding 6PM Shipping Availability for Botswana
Let’s break down the hurdles Botswana shoppers encounter on 6PM.com and what you need to know:
- 6PM ships only within the United States and US territories.
- No direct shipping to Africa, including Botswana. This is stated in their FAQs and checkout process.
- Payment cards with non-US billing may sometimes be declined.
- Some third-party sellers or brands sold via 6PM may have further shipment or export restrictions.
- Product-specific restrictions: Some items—such as hazardous materials, fragrances, or batteries—cannot legally ship internationally (regardless of the service used).
- Shipping availability on 6PM can change by item, season, or warehouse stock levels.
What this means: You must use a US address and a package forwarding solution that handles international shipping to Botswana. For payment, you’ll need a US-accepted payment method or an assisted-purchase service that buys on your behalf.
What Shoppers in Botswana Should Know Before Buying From 6PM
Shopping from the US opens up more product choices at competitive prices, often unavailable in Botswana. However, you need to be prepared for:
- US Pricing and Currencies: 6PM.com displays prices in US dollars, excludes VAT/sales tax at checkout, and applies domestic shipping fees if applicable.
- Local Import Regulations: Shipments arriving in Botswana are subject to import duty, VAT, potential clearance delays, and customs inspection. See Botswana’s customs guidance here.
- Delivery Times: Combined US domestic and Botswana international shipping can take 1-3+ weeks, depending on your forwarding provider and shipping method.
- Address Formatting: The US address from your package forwarder (including any unique suite or box number) must be entered correctly to ensure packages are matched and forwarded without delay.
- Return Policy: International returns can be complicated and expensive, so consider item sizing and details carefully before ordering.
