Why Can’t I Ship Macys Orders to Hungary Directly?
Many international shoppers in Hungary love the variety and deals at Macys.com. However, a frequent issue arises: Macys does not offer regular direct shipping to Hungary. That means, even though you can browse and fill up your online shopping cart, you usually can’t enter a Hungarian delivery address at checkout.
This presents a problem for those wanting to access U.S. brands, special discounts, seasonal sales, or exclusive items from Macy’s. Some Hungarian shoppers may try to enter their home address and find that shipping is simply not available, while others may see prohibitive shipping costs or blocked purchases due to billing and payment restrictions.
Key Considerations for Shoppers in Hungary
If you’re located in Hungary and want to order from Macys USA, here’s what you need to know before making a purchase:
- Shipping Availability: Not all products at Macys USA can be shipped internationally, even via forwarding. Oversized, hazardous, or restricted items may be blocked by Macys or by customs in Hungary.
- Billing Restrictions: Sometimes, international credit/debit cards or billing addresses may not be accepted at Macys’ checkout. This can be solved by using assisted purchase services.
- Import Duties & VAT: Orders shipped to Hungary from outside the EU are subject to Hungarian customs regulations. This means you may need to pay import fees, VAT, and sometimes handling fees when your package arrives.
- Shipping & Delivery Times: The total time for delivery includes Macys’ U.S. order processing, forwarder warehouse handling, and international shipping to Hungary—typically 7 to 21 days or more, depending on chosen shipping speed and local processing times.
- Order Tracking: With reputable package forwarders like Global Shopaholics, you receive tracking from warehouse to your door in Hungary.
Common Problems When Shipping Macys to Hungary (and How to Solve Them)
- Address not accepted: Macys will not accept international addresses at checkout.
- Payment errors: Some Hungarian or non-U.S. cards may not work.
- Shipping restrictions: Certain brands or items are not eligible for export due to retailer, carrier, or customs rules.
- High shipping costs: Direct shipping, if available, can be expensive compared to consolidation/forwarding.
- Hidden fees: Some services charge unexpected extra fees; always check total cost including customs handling.
Using a US package forwarding service is the most practical and cost-effective option for Hungarian shoppers who want to buy from Macys and ship to Hungary reliably and affordably.
