Why Buying from Kohls USA and Shipping to Hungary Can Seem Complicated
Many shoppers in Hungary are drawn to Kohl’s for American-exclusive clothing, shoes, electronics, homeware, and frequent online sales. Unfortunately, for most products, Kohls USA does not provide international shipping to Hungary. At checkout, you’ll notice that Hungary is not available in the shipping country drop-down menu, and even Kohl’s own Help pages confirm delivery is limited to U.S. addresses only.
Additionally, even if you try to use a Hungarian credit card, you may face payment or billing address restrictions. This can feel discouraging—but there’s a trusted workaround that thousands of shoppers use: U.S. package forwarding.
What Shoppers in Hungary Need to Know About Shopping at Kohls USA
If you’re determined to get Kohls US products shipped to Hungary, here are the essentials:
- Direct shipping is not available: All items must first be delivered to a U.S.-based address.
- Third-party package forwarding is required: Services like Global Shopaholics make shopping from U.S. stores possible by providing you with a personal US shipping address.
- Choice of delivery carriers: Once your items reach your forwarder, you can usually pick from multiple international couriers to Hungary (FedEx, DHL, UPS, Aramex, and more).
- Duty and customs fees: Hungarian customs duties and VAT may apply. Research rules at Hungary Customs: nav.gov.hu.
- Payment options can be limited at checkout if your card or billing address is not U.S.-based. Some forwarding services offer assisted purchase to help you overcome this.
- Returns are typically your responsibility and may be costly due to international delivery.
Limitations, Shipping Restrictions, and Important Timing When Ordering from Kohls USA to Hungary
Before placing your order, keep these factors in mind:
- Some products have export restrictions: Contrary to perception, not everything on Kohl’s can always be legally shipped across borders. Large electronics, batteries, pressurized sprays, and some brands may have airfreight or customs limitations.
- Shipping availability can change: Seller policies, item categories, U.S. export regulations, and even international airfreight rules might affect what can be forwarded to Hungary.
- Busy sale events (Black Friday, Cyber Monday, clearance) can cause processing and shipping delays: Plan ahead, especially if you’re making use of deep discounts or limited-time sales.
- Use your unique suite number or account code: This ensures your items are properly sorted at the forwarder’s warehouse.
- Costs fluctuate: International shipping rates, customs charges, and even U.S. domestic shipping to the warehouse may be affected by package weight, dimensions, and season.
