Understanding the Challenge: Why Direct Shipping from Kohls to Ghana Isn’t Available
Many Ghanaians love the vast selection and exclusive deals at Kohls USA, ranging from fashion and shoes to kitchen appliances, electronics, and home goods. However, if you’ve tried to check out on Kohls.com and enter a Ghana shipping address, you probably found that international shipping to Ghana is not available at checkout.
This limitation is common with U.S. retailers, who often restrict shipping to domestic U.S. addresses or a limited list of international countries. Reasons include high international shipping costs, complex customs requirements, and retailer policies concerning fraud prevention and local regulations.
This leaves most Kohls fans in Ghana looking for a trusted alternative to access the selection and value only available at the official Kohl’s USA online store.
What Ghana Shoppers Need to Know Before Buying from Kohls USA
If you want to buy from Kohl’s USA and ship to Ghana, there are a few key points to consider for a smooth shopping and shipping experience:
- Checkout limitations: Kohl’s US site requires a U.S. shipping address and often a U.S. billing address/credit card.
- Shipping method: You’ll need a package forwarding provider who gives you a personal U.S. address for online shopping.
- Item eligibility: Not every product is eligible for international shipping; certain items may be restricted by air, by Ghana Customs, or by courier policy.
- Customs and import duties (Ghana): Ghana Customs may charge import taxes or duties on items when they arrive in Ghana. Check the official customs guidelines for more.
- Shipping costs: Rates depend on total package weight, size, shipping carrier, and service speed—understanding your options helps you save.
Shipping from Kohls USA to Ghana: Availability, Limitations, and Decision Points
When attempting to shop at Kohls from Ghana, you’ll likely encounter these issues:
- No “Ghana” address at checkout: Entering a Ghana address at checkout will usually trigger an error or be blocked.
- Payment restrictions: Some international cards are not accepted by Kohls. Using a U.S. billing address and U.S.-issued card can solve this, or you can use an assisted purchase service.
- Product restrictions: Certain items—such as batteries, perfumes, aerosols, or bulky appliances—may have export/import or carrier restrictions. Confirm air freight rules and Ghana import policies before ordering.
- Sale event timing: Major U.S. events like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and clearance sales can mean bigger savings, but may also increase delivery times or out-of-stock risks. Plan accordingly.
Knowing these challenges, you’ll see why a reputable forwarding provider is essential for reliably getting Kohl’s orders from the US to Ghana.

Shipping Restrictions, Product Limitations, and Common Mistakes
- Restricted items: Some Kohls products (batteries, liquids, perfumes, hazardous materials, etc.) may have export/import or carrier restrictions for shipping to Ghana. Check Ghana import rules on any items you’re unsure about.
- Bulky items and air freight: Larger or heavy items may require special air cargo or sea freight solutions; always verify size and weight limits before ordering.
- Payment issues: If your international payment card is declined at checkout, use the assisted purchase service to have the forwarder buy on your behalf.
- Incorrect addresses: Always enter your unique U.S. suite number in your address to ensure accurate package delivery.
