Quick Summary: How to Buy from Macys and Ship to Botswana
- Macy’s doesn’t ship directly to Botswana. You’ll need a US shipping address to place your order.
- Package forwarding solves this. Global Shopaholics gives you a free US address and ships your Macy’s orders to Botswana.
- Check item eligibility and shipping options on Macys.com, as not all items can be shipped internationally.
- Combine multiple orders to reduce shipping costs with package consolidation.
- Be aware of Botswana customs, VAT, and possible restrictions on certain imported items.
Why Can’t You Ship Directly from Macys to Botswana?
Macy’s is a top US retailer for fashion, beauty, home, and gifts—but international shoppers in Botswana face problems:
- No direct shipping: At this time, Macy’s does not offer direct international shipping to Botswana at checkout.
- Credit card or address issues: Macy’s may not accept foreign billing addresses or non-US cards for some purchases.
- Limited delivery countries: Even if international shipping is occasionally offered, Botswana is not a supported destination.
- Sales and deals are often US-only: The best online exclusives or promotions are only visible or available in the US.
This pushes shoppers in Botswana to search for workarounds, shipping solutions, and US address services—especially when the item is unavailable locally or the price is better in the US.
What Botswana Shoppers Need to Know Before Ordering from Macys.com
If you plan to buy from Macys and ship to Botswana, here’s what you should consider before adding items to your cart:
- Not all Macy’s products are eligible for international export: Some brands (electronics, fragrances, or high-value items) could be restricted or require special handling.
- Return policies differ internationally: Returning an item from Botswana is expensive since Macy’s usually allows returns only to the US warehouse.
- Shipping fees and customs: You must calculate the total cost—not just the Macy’s order but international shipping, Botswana import VAT/duties, and possible courier fees.
- Delivery times are longer than US domestic shipping: It can take 5–15 business days depending on the shipping method you choose and possible customs clearance.
- Reliable tracking and customer support are essential: International delivery experiences can sometimes be unpredictable if you don’t use a reputable forwarding service.

Current Macy’s Shipping Availability & Limitations for International Buyers
At present, Macy’s does not support direct delivery to Botswana. Even shoppers browsing Macys.com from Botswana may find that the international checkout option only works for select countries—Botswana is not included. This means:
- You’ll need a US shipping address to check out and buy at Macys.com.
- Some third-party merchants or “marketplace” sellers on Macy’s may have their own separate shipping policies, so always double-check product eligibility before purchasing.
- Availability of international shipping can also vary due to customs regulations, carrier restrictions, product size, or brand rules. For example, some beauty items, electronics, or restricted brands might not be exportable.
- Some promotional or clearance deals (like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or Fourth of July specials) may be for US addresses only. A US shipping address ensures you can access all offers.
If you have trouble with payment or the checkout form at Macys.com, it’s usually due to address or card restrictions. A package forwarding service with an “assisted purchase” feature can help you check out if your card doesn’t work.

Estimate costs upfront: Before finalizing any major order, use a calculator and research duties and VAT to avoid surprises.
Customs, Duties, and Import Restrictions for Botswana
Every package shipping to Botswana from USA is subject to Botswana Revenue Service (BURS) import controls. Here’s a practical checklist for smooth delivery:
- Declared value should match Macy’s invoice. Undervaluing may result in returns or penalties.
- Items are checked for eligibility. Some electronics, lithium batteries, beauty products, or health/safety restricted goods may be prohibited or require permits.
- Botswana typically charges import VAT and may also assess import duties depending on item type and value.
- Prepare for possible customs checks, which can delay final delivery.
- For more details on what is allowed and the latest duty rates, always consult Botswana Customs.
Using a seasoned forwarding provider reduces the risk of undeliverables, improper documentation, or missed forms—which is critical for smooth shipments from Macy’s USA to Botswana.
