Does Amazon Ship on Weekend

Amazon has been delivering items to its consumers through its own package delivery business, fittingly titled Amazon Logistics, since 2005.

The service began as a trial program in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York City more than ten years ago and has now spread to practically every major city in the United States. It is now accessible in Canada, the United Kingdom, Germany, Spain, Italy, Ireland, Brazil, and even India.

With over 1.1 million employees to accomplish orders and over 175 operating fulfillment centers worldwide, Amazon Logistics rivals some of the most central delivery service providers such as UPS and FedEx.

1.  What Exactly Is Amazon Logistics?

Amazon Logistics is a complimentary same-day delivery shipping option to some of the most popular shipping carriers such as UPS, USPS, and FedEx.

Amazon has positioned the initiative as a chance for businesses to invest in becoming Delivery Service Partners (or DSPs for short).

These bonuses are available for third-party sellers as well. You have to be a Prime member to participate in the logistics program. Non-members can reap the benefits for an additional cost.

2.  Innovations in Amazon Logistics

Though Amazon’s service is not yet perfect, emerging technologies are providing them an advantage over the competition.

· Amazon’s Cargo Flight. Amazon is presently working on Amazon Prime Air, a drone delivery system that would deliver products to consumers in 30 minutes or less. Amazon leased 12 Boeing 767-300 freight planes, boosting its total fleet to more than 80 planes.

·Amazon Flex. It’s an Uber-like service that uses contract drivers to deliver goods to shoppers.

·Metro Market. As Amazon expands its service to 75 U.S. metro regions, Prime members may now enjoy free same-day delivery.

·Software for Air Traffic Control. Amazon is developing specific software for drones that will be integrated into the existing air traffic control system in the future.

·Deliveries by Parachute. Yes, you read it correctly, parachute! This is how Amazon intends to direct drone-delivered parcels.

·Deliveries via Underground. Amazon is constructing an underground tunnel network  to convey packages and containers.

·Voice-assisted delivery is available. Prime members can now use Alexa voice  search to order from Prime Now and alcohol delivery services.

·Vehicles that drive themselves. This innovative technology will enable you to convey Amazon purchases to your clients in a dependable manner using driverless cars.

3.How Does Amazon Logistics Work?

Deliveries are made 365 days/year, 7 days/week, which means Amazon does provide delivery service on Sundays too!

Deliveries are made throughout the day and include early mornings and late evenings, which is ideal for packages that require a signature. Delivery drivers are treated like third-party provision providers who are limited through Amazon.

Just in case Amazon does not provide shipping services to your country or region you can always contact or sign up for free at Global Shopaholics and get your parcel delivered in no time to your doorstep.
